We were awarded £3,965 by The University of Manchesters’ School of Health Sciences Social Responsibility Committee for our project entitled:

Understanding the needs of people with sight and/or hearing impairments to enhance pharmacy, optomotry and audiology practice.

These funds will suport the delivery of student enrichment activities using sight and hearng simulations and allow us to look at changes in students taking part in terms of empathy, knowledge and understanding and task perception.

Events include speakers who have these conditions, health professionals, a ‘Meet and Greet’ visit by The Guide Dogs Association and a Bristish Sign Language taster course all of which will be filmed by The University of Manchester Media Team enabling resources to be developed for future use to help support safer medicines use.
