Whilst many people with hearing loss have hearing aids, not everyone wears them or has them correctly set.

Similarly, some pharmacies have a hearing or audio loop (HL) system. This provides a magnetic, wireless signal that gets picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to Telecoil ‘T’ setting. Places with a HL system you should display the logo.

You can help people with hearing aids by finding out if you have a HL, and making sure it is activated so you comply with the Equality Act.

Please ensure that you know whether or not you have a loop in your pharmacy. If there is one, please make sure that it is regularly tested and that new batteries are installed periodically.

If it can be used immediately as needed, this helps as does a sign displaying the hearing loop system is on prominent display in the pharmacy to help people with hearing impairments.
